New arrival cards

So it's been about a week since I've last posted... I got in a lil bit of a slump. I had started a new diet and was feeling pretty overwhelmed by it and some other personal life stresses. I started feeling better today and came into my craftroom only to feel empty of ideas. So I hit google and in no time I was thinking of all the things I could make! (what did we do for inspiration before google...)

Here's a couple cards I made with some new stamps I got last weekend from My Creative Time. I love all the stamps I got and the giftcard die (I'll show that in an upcoming post). She has some great sentiments, in super cute fonts.

On to my project

Just a lil different!

Materials:
4x5.5 inch white card base
pretty green and pink flower paper from my stash (possibly Recollections)
Pink cardstock run through my sizzix large dot folder
white and green and brown cardstock
My Creative Time Many Greetings stamp set
Cricut New Arrival cartridge
Holly green trendy twine

Hope you liked it!

TGIF! Happy Friday to everyone out there! =)
I have a elegant and simple card to give to a wonderful couple that is getting married today.
I had a hard time deciding exactly what to do and where the main focus should be. I think I make most of my cards just about the same way, even though I really like to challenge myself. I will probably start using sketches to help me broaden my creativity! Now on to today's project.

before

As I'm posting this I'm looking at that B and thinking it needs a lil bling!

after

I may have gotten a lil carried away, but a girl can never have too much bling. =)

I started off with 3 DCWV stacks. Tres Chic is the background paper, the black sparkly paper and white glimmer paper on the flag are from the La Creme cardstock and the B is from the alphabet stack. (I got that one on clearance at Joann's never even thinking I was going to use it)
The pink/red paper is from recollections and has a sheen/glimmer to it also.
I used the CTMH art philosophy cartridge to cut out the frames.
The black one is cut at 4" and the pink at 3".
I used the Jaded Blossom flag die set and their Babies and Weddings stamp set for the sentiment

Since I wasn't sure what to write on the inside and don't have any sentiment stamps for this type of project (I will be finding some in the future for sure!) I found a website with lots of sayings for the inside of cards (can't remember the website sorry.) Then I used my Imagine to print on the inside of the card. It is so easy to do and makes it look very professional. Let me know if anyone has questions on how to do this.

Thanks everyone! Hope you all have a good weekend. I am having a good friend come over tomorrow for some crafting (providing she doesn't go into labor) So I might post our projects.

A sweet card for a sweet co-worker

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday (even though it's really my Friday!)
I made a simple card today for a wonderful co-worker that I thought might be in need of a lil pick me up.

I got my inspiration for this card from a picture I saw on Pinterest.
I just love the different shades of colors and how the butterflies branch out.
I used my cricut to cut out the butterflies, I just put small scraps 2x3" all over my mat and used CCR to layout where the butterflies would be cut. I'm sure you could also
find a paper punch that would work perfectly!

Materials:
5x6.5 white card base
background paper is DCWV spring fling
the butterflies are just random colored cardstock I had laying around
(I used mostly small scraps)
Stamp is from Stampin' Up

(I think it may be my first one ever!)

Bestfriends card

Happy friday! It's been a busy week around our house and TGIF! Today's project is a card I made for a really good friend that I don't get to see as often as I wish. She lives far away, but comes up to visit this area a few times a year and we always make a point of hanging out. This time we went to the tulip festival in Mount Vernon. There were not many tulips in bloom yet as it has been a cold start to spring, but we made the best of it. There were plenty of daffodils and hyacinth. She has a 8 month old lil girl that we had fun taking pics of with the different colored flowers, then we went to have lunch. It was a great day! Anyways, back to the project.

The completed card

Materials:
white 6.5x5 inch card base
purple cardstock cut at 6.25x4.75
a print from the Fresh Floral stack by: DCWV cut at 6x4.5
light blue cardstock cut at 6.25x2 and run through the
seeing spots sizzix embossing folder
grape fizz trendy twine
worn lipstick distress ink
CTMH life is stamp set
Memento ink in cottage ivy and grape jelly
light pink, bright pink, pink gingham, buttercream yellow, and green cardstock for flower
and flower shoppe cricut cartridge

Here's more detailed pics of daisy I cut it and leaves out at 3"

Sorry there is not a pic of the center before I rolled it up, which is very easy i might add...
(even though I am very uncoordinated!)
as you can see I changed my mind and made more of the larger petals in pink gingham I also inked up both of the inner flower petal parts with worn lipstick distress ink
and I inked up the leaves with a lil cottage ivy ink
 completed daisy flower

This is my first flower I have ever made from flower shoppe!

Hope you liked! Have a great weekend everyone and a wonderful Easter!!

Thanks for stopping by, have a fabulous week!!

My first post

Hi, I thought I would start off by introducing myself and my craftroom. My name is Dottie and I have been crafting for as long as I can remember. It all started with my mom, she's a crafter and I used to help her out at bazaars and such. I loved going and seeing all the things people created and begging her for money to buy little nick nacks. I'm pretty sure she never made any money because I would spend it all. That brings me to another thing I love shopping! As you will see I love buying patterned papers. It's always amazing to me that they coordinate so well yet are all different. I also have recently started collecting stamps, it's crazy how many different designers and companies there are out there! I wonder where these have been all my life. This brings me to my crafting style. I usually am a clean and simple kinda girl, yet I am always amazed how some people can add so much to a card or layout and it still looks uncluttered. I thought I would share some pics of my craftroom since this is where I will be spending most of my blogging time.
