1st birthday invitations

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy weekend around here, I got called in to work today and yesterday I worked on these cute owl invitations for a friends lil girls first birthday! I love the colors and how it turned out.

Here's a close up of the card

I used the Best of 2010 cartridge for the owl (don't know the actual cartridge it is on) I cut the first layer out on kraft cardstock since I know the kind I get tends to be nice and heavy. I then used distress stain in vintage photo to make the stick she's standing on a lil darker. The body is cut from coordinations cardstock, it has a light pink core so I sanded around the edges to soften/distress it a bit. The phrase I printed out on my imagine using the Kate's ABC's baby girl 2 font. Then I just cut them to size and stuck them on. I pop dotted my owl in front of a lil twine I wrapped around for extra texture.

Just wanted to remind you about May's Promotion! I love this paper, it's just so cute!!

just click on the image and it will take you to my Close to My Heart website!

Hope everyone has a fabulous Sunday!

Jaded Blossom May Challenge

The Jaded Blossom challenge this month is
to make a card using at least 3 flowers and a Jaded Blossom stamp!

Here's my entry, it's a card I made for my mom for Mother's Day.

I used some Making Memories paper and felt flowers, layering them to create cute multi-colored flowers.
The middle is different colored brads with some trendy twine stems and leaves. The grass is cut on my imagine from the Ultimate Creative Series Sampler. It's one of my fav. cartridges!! A good one for someone new it has lots of options and all different types of images and words on it. The background is a shimmer paper from Recollections. I love the shimmer, though you can't really see it in the pic. The lil strips I pop dotted my Celebrate! from Jaded Blossom sentiment on, are from dotty for you from CTMH and DCWV spring fling stack.

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm so in love with this stack of papers! It's a crazy good value, you get 24 double sided papers for only $5.00 when you spend $35.00!!

Jaded Blossom Customer Blog Hop

Hi everyone and happy FRIDAY!! I'm super excited today! This is my first ever blog hop.=)
I hope you have come here from the Jaded Blossom site.
If not start there and make sure you visit everyone.

My project today is from their nerdy owl set. It's a birthday card for my wonderful boyfriend! I just love this set and it was my first ever Jaded Blossom stamp. I actually won it in a Pinterest contest.

Isn't he just adorable!
I stamped him on some cream paper that I also inked around the edges. The shape is from the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge cut at 3". I layered that on the same image cut at 3.5" that I also added a lil stitching to. It's pop dotted on for a lil dimension and because I don't think I've ever made a card without a pop dot! I just love them. The sentiment is from the same set and it is stamped on the Jaded Blossom flag die, another one of my favorite things! All the cardstock is Dotty for you paper from CTMH. I just love polka dots and how could I not love a paper collection with my name in it. =)

Now on to the goodies!! Jaded Blossom is offering Echo Park paper, Twine and new treat boxes (which have not yet been released) to 3 lucky winners who comment on every blog. How awesome is that!! Everyone will have until Sunday night to complete the hop and the winner will be selected Monday morning.

One lucky commenter from my blog will also win some goodies. All you have to do to win is become a follower of my blog and leave a comment! (winner selected by random.org)

Now if you'll hop on back to Jaded Blossom they will direct you to the next post!

Hope everyone has a wonderful friday!

Dottie =)

Mini scrapbook/guestbook for friends babyshower

Hello everyone and happy Thursday! (it's my friday) I wanted to share a project I'm working on for a friend. I hosted a baby shower for her about a month ago and am now working on a mini scrapbook/guestbook from it.

We played present bingo and I had everyone write their name on the back of their bingo card, a special lil note to her and also what they got her. I then gathered them all up after the game and binded them with some twine from the twinery and my Crop-a-dile big bite. I added a strip of paper cut with the Jaded Blossom Flag die to add a lil fun to the edge and cover my not so straight binding holes. I also used the flag die for the title, after I cut it out I aligned it on my imagine mat and had it print out the info (it's super easy). I then added a few of the cupcake toppers I had used (minus the picks). Now all that's left to do is add pics to the inside from the party!

Tomorrow is a big day for me, it's my first ever blog hop! I'm so excited for it. It's the Jaded Blossom Customer appreciation blog hop! It is also my boyfriends birthday! I'm just super excited for tomorrow.

Don't forget about the CTMH Dotty for you campaign going on now! They have some of the cutest papers ever!!

Hope everyone has a good day!!

Thank you card pk release challenge1

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a wonderful day yesterday with my bestie shopping and catching up. It was a great weekend until I woke up this morning with the cold my boyfriend has been fighting the past week. Ugh... I so hate being sick.

I thought even though I'm sick it would be fun to participate in the Peachy Keen May release challenges, here's my entry for challenge #1.

The challenge was to make a card/item using more than 1 piece of fruit. I really like those little strawberries from cricut preserves cartridge. I've been wanting to use that image forever with some pk stamps, just never got around to it. Then when I went to see the release and saw the challenges, I though PERFECT!! The stamp I used for the face was the smiley face from character assortment. I also used some Trendy Twine in strawberry cupcake for a cute little bow and the divine swirls embossing folder to add a lil dimension. The paper for the strawberries is from the DCWV spring fling pack. The sentiment is from My Creative Time many greetings set.

Here's a quick reminder about the Dotty for you campaign over at CTMH.

That's it for today! Hope everyone has a happy week and I hope to have the PK challenge #2 up by tomorrow.

Another wedding for a dear friend

Well I've been lazy about posting since I've been busy.
Last weekend my dear friend T had her reception (they got married last December).
She married a farmer and while we were thinking about what she should do for favors we ran across seed packets. How could we not go with them, farmer, seed, haha... anyways... So she ordered some and had them sent to me so I could make custom labels for them.

Sorry about the picture, it was hard to get a good one on glossy paper.
I just did a simple label with a cute lil double heart design from the Imagine cartridge Better Together.
The font is from Printing 101, I love how simple yet elegant it is.

Here's the card I made for them. =)

I used a couple different cartridges for this. The border is from the Art Philosophy cartridge (pop dotted of course) and the heart from the Sweethearts cartridge. I just used some pretty and simple cardstock for the background and some cute ribbon I got at the dollar store and viola! I love the Mr. and Mrs. sentiment from Jaded Blossom set Babies and Weddings.

Well I think it's time to get to sleep and I hope everyone has a happy Friday!!

Just a reminder of the Dotty for you campaign! I think they spelled Dotty wrong though =)

When you place an order of $35 or more in products from the Spring/Summer 2012 Idea Book between April 17 and May 31, you may add the Dotty for You paper packet, valued at $19.95, for just $5. Dotty for You includes 24 specially designed, coordinating B&T Duos® sheets (2 each of 12 patterns) and an artwork idea insert to get your creative juices flowing.

The papers are super cute! I will be featuring some projects with them really soon!!!
